OUGD602: DBA Brief - Evaluation

Our presentation went well, however there were mixed reviews. Although they liked our concept and the integration of nature into our designs they felt that we had worked too hard on the brand experience and had forgotten to develop the actual brand. Personally I felt that we had implemented our brand in different ways to other groups- choosing to focus on our customer experiences as opposed to placing a logo onto sick bags, stationary or leaflets- things we felt were unnecessary for the branding we had aimed to create. However, I do see where they are coming from, with just the ideals of the brand (the curves, adding in nature where possible, balance of the natural world and technology) being implemented across different areas we hadn't really used the logo on anything other than the Loop, app and poster. The explained that our logo was incredibly thin and would be difficult to see from a distance and I agree to a certain extent. I feel that in our initial feedback some wires got crossed and the ideas we felt they wanted us to develop perhaps weren't done in the way they had in mind, however they did comment that at the stage we were at it would be suitable for presenting to industry and then continuing to work on afterwards.

Overall I am pleased with what we came up with, I do feel that due to circumstances we were essentially a man down from the get go and this made it harder to divide up work between less people which meant we could only implement our brand onto certain number of things. It appears the things we chose, although well done, weren't perhaps the best choices. Still it was a good experience, I feel confident in pitching and answering questions and although we didn't win, we certainly got some professional experience out of it which will benefit me greatly in the future.
