OUGD602: Hyperloop- Further Development, The Band

After coming together and comparing our further developed logos we ended up selecting Lucy's idea as it felt the most natural, yet simple. From here we divided the jobs for the upcoming week. I was to be in charge of mocking up station environments, an advertisement and most importantly mocking up what the rosetta loop would look like.

As I sketched I tried to keep the design close to- or resembling, the logo we had chosen so that the two clearly tied together under one brand.

Once I had sketched out some basic ideas of the shape I then created some more detailed versions displaying the from and back. Using a hand and wrist as my guideline I was able to trace over the loop designs to make them appear as real as possible.

After talking through ideas with my group we decided on the most suitable looking band. From here I took the design into photoshop and began to construct a 3D image to demonstrate what the band may look like.

Creating the loop was a fairly straight forwards- if not time consuming- process. Firstly I made the 'skin' or basic outline for the two sections in the loop and then slowly built up colour, shadows and highlights before then layering the logo and 'embedding' it into the band and creating a shadow. Finally I created three bands each showing off the brands logos and sent it to be used in posters and promotional materials.
